Bihar Board 12th Question Answers – Complete BSEB Class 12 Solutions for Every Subject

There is a gap that most Bihar Board Class 12 students never talk about — but almost every one of them experiences. It is the gap between sitting with a chapter, reading it carefully, feeling like you understand it, and then opening your answer sheet in the examination hall and realising that understanding something and writing it correctly are two entirely separate challenges.

This page was built to close that gap.

What you will find here are complete Bihar Board 12th question answers for every major subject across Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. These are not rough notes or one-line summaries. These are fully written BSEB Class 12 solutions — structured the way Bihar Board examiners expect, calibrated to the right depth for each mark allocation, and written in the precise academic language that separates a nine-out-of-ten answer from a four-out-of-ten one.

Every 12th board subject solution on this page has been prepared keeping one thing in mind: what does a Bihar Board Class 12 examiner actually want to see on an answer sheet? Not what is technically true. Not what is in the textbook. What a trained examiner, following Bihar Board marking guidelines, will award full marks for.

One note before we begin: this page is dedicated entirely to Bihar Board Subject question answers at the Class 12 Intermediate level. Students currently in Class 11 looking for Class 11 solutions will find those on our dedicated Class 11 solutions page. Every answer and solution on this page is written for the Class 12 Bihar Board Intermediate examination curriculum only.

What Separates a BSEB Class 12 Solution from Simply Reading Your Textbook

Most students treat their textbook as the endpoint of preparation. They read the chapter, understand the concepts, and assume they are ready to answer questions on it. What they have actually done is complete the first half of exam preparation. The second half — learning to translate that understanding into a written answer that meets Bihar Board's specific format and language expectations — is what most students skip entirely.

A BSEB Class 12 solution is not just content. It is content delivered in a specific format, at a specific length, using specific terminology, with specific structural elements — diagrams where required, formulas where expected, definitions placed at the right point in the answer. An examiner reading hundreds of papers in a short time is not weighing the depth of your personal understanding. They are checking whether your written answer contains the elements their marking scheme specifies.

This is not a cynical observation. It is a practical one. Understanding this reality — and preparing for it deliberately by studying well-written model answers alongside textbook content — is what Bihar Board toppers consistently do differently from students who study just as hard but score significantly less.

How Bihar Board 12th Papers Are Marked — The Examiner's Perspective

Before working through subject-specific solutions, understanding how the Bihar Board marking process works changes how you approach answer writing entirely.

Bihar Board Intermediate papers are marked using a detailed marking scheme that breaks each answer into its component parts and assigns marks to each component separately. For a six-mark question on electromagnetic induction, the marking scheme might allocate one mark for the correct definition of magnetic flux, two marks for the correct statement and explanation of Faraday's law, two marks for the correct derivation of the expression for induced EMF, and one mark for a correctly drawn and labelled diagram. A student who writes a beautiful, fluent explanation of electromagnetic induction but omits the diagram loses that one mark regardless of how well everything else is written.

This component-based marking means that answer writing is partly about completeness — making sure every element the marking scheme expects is present in your answer. The 12th class prashn uttar solutions on this page are written with this component-by-component completeness in mind. Every expected element is present. Nothing is assumed or left implicit.

The length of an answer also sends a signal to an examiner. A two-mark question answered in fifteen lines suggests a student who does not understand what is being asked. A six-mark question answered in three lines suggests a student who has not prepared adequately. The solutions on this page model the correct length for each mark allocation — and understanding that calibration is one of the most transferable skills a Bihar Board Class 12 student can develop.

Science Stream — Chapter-wise Solution Approach

The Science stream carries the highest stakes of any stream in the Bihar Board Intermediate examination, both in terms of the competitive examinations that follow it and in terms of the technical precision that the answer-writing demands. Each subject in the Science stream has its own answer-writing logic, and understanding that logic is as important as understanding the subject content.

Physics — How to Write Answers That Earn Every Mark

Physics answers live or die on three pillars: precise definition, correct law or principle, and accurate mathematical treatment. Strip any one of these pillars away and the answer is incomplete, regardless of how confident or fluent the writing feels.

The chapters that generate the most subjective questions in Bihar Board 12th Physics papers — based on analysis of previous examination patterns — are current electricity, electromagnetic induction, ray optics, wave optics, and semiconductor electronics. Within these chapters, the most commonly asked question formats are derivations, numerical problems, and explanation-with-diagram questions.

For derivations, the structure of a complete answer follows a consistent pattern across all chapters. Every derivation begins with a statement of what is being derived and the physical situation being considered. It then states the relevant law or principle that will be applied. It proceeds through the mathematical steps in logical sequence — each step following from the previous one, with substitutions clearly shown. It concludes with the final derived expression, boxed or underlined to signal closure.

The most common reason Bihar Board Physics derivation answers lose marks is not mathematical error — it is missing the opening statement of the law or principle being applied. Examiners award separate marks for that statement. Students who jump directly into the mathematics without stating Faraday's law, Gauss's law, or whichever principle drives the derivation are leaving those marks on the table every time.

Numerical answers require a six-part structure without exception: given quantities with units, quantity to find, relevant formula, substitution with units, calculation, and final answer with correct units. The unit at the end is not optional. It is part of the answer.

Chemistry — Precision in Every Sentence and Every Structure

Chemistry answer writing in Bihar Board Class 12 demands a different kind of precision from Physics. Where Physics rewards mathematical rigour, Chemistry rewards chemical accuracy — correct names, correct formulas, correct reaction equations, correctly drawn organic structures, and correctly stated trends and properties.

From Physical Chemistry, the chapters on electrochemistry and chemical kinetics generate the most consistent subjective questions. Electrochemistry answers must include correct Nernst equation applications, correct electrode notation for electrochemical cells, and correct unit handling in numerical problems. Chemical kinetics answers must distinguish clearly between order and molecularity — a distinction that appears in almost every Bihar Board Chemistry paper — and must state rate law expressions precisely.

Organic Chemistry generates the largest volume of Bihar Board 12th Chemistry subjective questions, and the quality of organic structures drawn in answers directly determines marks earned. Organic reaction answers must show the complete reaction — reactants, conditions written above the arrow, and products — with structural formulae rather than molecular formulae wherever the question involves a functional group transformation. A student who writes the molecular formula of an organic product where a structural formula is expected is signalling to the examiner that they have not genuinely understood the reaction at the molecular level.

Biology — Diagrams Are Not Optional, They Are Essential

Bihar Board Class 12 Biology answers have a characteristic that distinguishes them from every other subject in the curriculum: diagrams are not supplementary to the answer, they are a core component of it, and they carry dedicated marks within the marking scheme.

The chapters that consistently generate the most subjective questions in Bihar Board 12th Biology papers are sexual reproduction in flowering plants, human reproduction, principles of inheritance and variation, molecular basis of inheritance, human health and disease, and ecology. Within these chapters, diagram-based questions appear in virtually every paper.

A Biology diagram answer earns full marks when it meets four conditions simultaneously. The diagram must be drawn clearly enough to be legible — not a rough sketch, but a careful drawing. It must be correctly proportioned — the relative sizes of structures should reflect their actual biological relationships. It must be completely labelled — every structure that the question could reasonably expect to be identified should have a label line and a name. And the labels must be correct — a diagram that labels the epididymis as the vas deferens, or the cotyledon as the endosperm, will be penalised regardless of how well-drawn the overall diagram is.

For genetics questions — which appear in some form in every Bihar Board Biology paper — the answer must always include the Punnett square or cross diagram drawn explicitly, with genotypes clearly shown for both parents and offspring. Genetics answers that explain crossing in words without drawing the cross diagram consistently score lower than answers that include the diagram, because the Bihar Board marking scheme awards specific marks for the cross diagram as a distinct element.

Mathematics — Show Every Step, Earn Every Mark

Bihar Board Class 12 Mathematics is the subject where working matters more than in any other. The final answer carries only a small portion of the total marks for any question. The majority of marks are allocated to the steps of the solution — which means a student who arrives at a wrong final answer but has executed every preceding step correctly will still earn most of the available marks, while a student who writes only the final answer — however correct — will earn very few.

Integration, differential equations, three-dimensional geometry, probability, and matrices and determinants are the chapters that dominate the Bihar Board 12th Mathematics subjective paper. Of these, integration consistently carries the most marks and generates the widest variation in student performance — which makes it simultaneously the highest-risk and highest-opportunity chapter in the paper.

Integration answers require the method to be clearly identified before the integration begins. If the method is substitution, the substitution must be clearly stated — let u equal whatever expression is being substituted, du/dx must be written, and dx must be replaced in terms of du before the integration proceeds. If the method is integration by parts, the choice of u and dv must be stated at the beginning, and the formula must be written explicitly before it is applied. These opening steps are not preliminary formalities — they carry marks in the Bihar Board Mathematics marking scheme.

Commerce Stream — Chapter-wise Solution Approach

Commerce stream answer writing in Bihar Board Class 12 combines theoretical explanation, procedural accuracy, and practical application in proportions that vary significantly between subjects. Each subject in the Commerce stream rewards a specific answer-writing approach.

Accountancy — Format Is Part of the Answer

Accountancy is the only Bihar Board Class 12 subject where the visual presentation of the answer — the format of accounts, statements, and entries — is itself part of what is being assessed. An answer that contains every correct figure but presents them in an incorrect format will receive fewer marks than an answer that is both numerically correct and correctly formatted.

Partnership accounts — covering admission, retirement, dissolution, and amalgamation — and company accounts — covering issue, forfeiture, and reissue of shares and debentures — generate the majority of Bihar Board 12th Accountancy subjective questions. Cash flow statement and financial statement analysis questions appear regularly in the latter part of the paper.

Every partnership account answer must begin by identifying what is changing — admission, retirement, or dissolution — and what adjustments are required. Goodwill treatment, profit-sharing ratio changes, revaluation of assets and liabilities, and capital adjustments must each be addressed in the correct sequence. Students who jump directly to the ledger accounts without first setting up the revaluation account and the goodwill account in the correct order consistently lose the early marks in these questions.

Business Studies — Explanation Over Enumeration

Business Studies subjective answers in Bihar Board Class 12 are assessed on explanation quality, not on how many points a student lists. The Bihar Board marking scheme for Business Studies awards marks for developed explanations — sentences that state a point, explain what it means, and illustrate it with an example or context — rather than for bare keyword lists.

The most productive chapters for Business Studies subjective preparation are principles of management, organising, directing, controlling, financial management, marketing management, and consumer protection. Within these chapters, questions that ask students to explain principles, distinguish between concepts, or analyse a given situation appear most frequently.

For distinction questions — "distinguish between planning and organising," "differentiate between fixed capital and working capital" — the most effective answer format is a structured comparison table with at least four points of distinction, each explained in a sentence rather than stated as a single word. Tables in Business Studies answers are appropriate and expected — unlike in some other subjects where tables feel out of place in a written answer.

Economics — Diagrams Earn Marks That Words Cannot

Economics subjective answers in Bihar Board Class 12 occupy a middle ground between the heavily mathematical approach of Physics and Chemistry and the purely textual approach of History and Political Science. The most effective Economics answers combine precise written explanation with correctly drawn economic diagrams — and it is the diagrams that most clearly distinguish high-scoring from average-scoring students.

Demand and supply analysis, elasticity concepts, production and cost relationships, market equilibrium, national income measurement, money and banking, and balance of payments are the areas that generate the most Bihar Board 12th Economics subjective questions. Within these areas, questions that ask students to explain a concept with the help of a diagram appear consistently in every paper.

An Economics diagram earns its full mark allocation when both axes are correctly labelled, the curve is correctly shaped and positioned, the equilibrium point is clearly marked, and any shift described in the answer is shown with an arrow and a label. A demand curve drawn without axis labels communicates carelessness to an examiner even when the economic reasoning in the written answer is sound.

Arts Stream — Chapter-wise Solution Approach

Arts stream answer writing covers the widest disciplinary range of any stream in the Bihar Board curriculum, from the evidence-based narrative of History to the spatial analysis of Geography to the theoretical frameworks of Political Science. Each discipline rewards a distinct approach.

History — Evidence First, Argument Second

Bihar Board Class 12 History answers are assessed on two things simultaneously: factual accuracy and analytical organisation. An answer that states many correct facts but organises them poorly — jumping between time periods, mixing causes with consequences, confusing different events — will score less than an answer with fewer facts but a clearer logical structure.

The chapters on colonial economy, the nationalist movement, partition and independence, and the making of the Constitution generate the most consistent subjective questions in the Bihar Board 12th History paper. Long answer questions in History typically require students to explain a process, analyse a development, or evaluate a historical interpretation — all of which reward answers that lead with a clear opening statement of what is being argued, develop that argument through organised paragraphs of evidence, and conclude with a summary that ties the evidence back to the opening statement.

Source-based questions — which ask students to read a short excerpt and answer questions about it — require a specific approach. The answer must demonstrate engagement with the actual source text, not just with general knowledge of the topic. Quoting directly from the provided source, identifying its historical context, and explaining what it reveals about the period being studied are the three elements that earn full marks in source-based History questions.

Geography — Maps Matter as Much as Text

Bihar Board Class 12 Geography answers require the same integration of text and diagram that Economics demands, but the diagrams here are maps — and map work is an area where many Bihar Board Geography students are significantly underprepared.

Human geography topics — population, migration, human development, primary and secondary activities, transport and communication, international trade — generate the majority of Bihar Board 12th Geography subjective questions. Physical geography topics contribute fewer subjective questions but are well-represented in the objective section.

For map-based questions, the accuracy of location marking directly determines marks. Rivers, mountain ranges, cities, industrial regions, agricultural zones, and transport routes must be marked at their correct approximate positions on the outline map provided. Students who have practised map work throughout the year — rather than only in the final weeks before the examination — develop the spatial memory that makes accurate location marking feel instinctive rather than uncertain.

Political Science — Conceptual Clarity in Every Paragraph

Bihar Board Class 12 Political Science answers are assessed primarily on conceptual understanding — the ability to explain political ideas, institutions, and events accurately and clearly. The chapters on the cold war, India's external relations, democratic consolidation, the rise of popular movements, and regional aspirations generate the most consistent subjective questions in the Bihar Board 12th Political Science paper.

Long answer questions in Political Science reward answers that demonstrate understanding of political context — not just what happened, but why it happened, what forces drove it, and what consequences it produced. A student who explains the Emergency of 1975 in terms of the political pressures and constitutional tensions that preceded it will consistently score higher than a student who lists the events of the Emergency without any analytical framing.

The Anatomy of a Perfect Bihar Board Answer — Format by Mark Allocation

Understanding the correct length and structure for each mark allocation is one of the most immediately applicable skills a Bihar Board Class 12 student can develop. Here is the precise model for each question type.

A two-mark answer should be three to five lines — one sentence defining the core concept, one or two sentences explaining or expanding it, and optionally one sentence giving an example. No diagrams are required unless specifically requested. No lengthy preamble.

A four-mark answer should be eight to twelve lines — an opening definition or statement, two to three developed points of explanation each in a separate sentence or short paragraph, a diagram where relevant, and a brief closing sentence. The answer should demonstrate understanding without over-explaining.

A six-mark answer should be fifteen to twenty lines — a structured opening that establishes the topic clearly, three to four developed explanatory paragraphs each addressing a distinct aspect of the question, a diagram or derivation or numerical working where the subject demands it, and a clear conclusion. A six-mark answer should feel complete — an examiner reading it should feel that the topic has been properly treated, not merely touched upon.

Answer-Writing Habits That Cost Bihar Board Students Marks Every Year

Some patterns of answer-writing error repeat themselves across Bihar Board examination halls every year, and awareness of them is the first step toward eliminating them.

Writing everything you know about a topic regardless of what the question actually asked is the most common and most costly answer-writing habit. Questions are specific. Answers must be specific to match them. A question asking you to explain the principle of superposition of waves does not want everything you know about waves. It wants the principle of superposition, explained completely, and nothing else.

Omitting units in numerical answers is a systematic mark-loss that affects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Economics students every year. Every numerical answer in these subjects is incomplete without its unit. Volts without V, moles without mol, kilometres without km — these omissions each represent marks that should have been earned.

Skipping diagrams to save time is a calculation that almost always works out badly. Diagrams in Biology, Physics, Geography, and Economics carry dedicated marks in the marking scheme. The two or three minutes spent drawing a correctly labelled diagram of the human reproductive system, a correctly drawn ray diagram for a convex lens, or a correctly labelled demand-supply equilibrium graph earn marks that cannot be recovered through any amount of additional writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. How long should a Bihar Board 12th answer be for a 5-mark question?

For a five-mark question in the Bihar Board Intermediate examination, the ideal answer length is twelve to fifteen lines. The answer should include a clear opening definition or statement of the concept, three to four developed explanatory points, a diagram or formula where the subject requires it, and a brief concluding line. Answers significantly shorter than this suggest incomplete coverage of the marking scheme components. Answers significantly longer risk containing irrelevant material that does not earn additional marks and wastes examination time.

Q2. Are Bihar Board 12th question answers available in Hindi medium?

Yes. Bihar Board Intermediate examinations are conducted in both Hindi and English medium, and students are entitled to write their answers in whichever medium they are registered for. The 12th class prashn uttar resources on this page are available in both mediums for all major subjects. Hindi medium solutions use the same terminology as the Bihar Board prescribed textbooks in Hindi, ensuring that the language of the answer matches what Bihar Board examiners in Hindi medium marking centres expect to see.

Q3. Do BSEB Class 12 solutions from previous years help in current exam preparation?

Significantly yes. Previous year BSEB Class 12 solutions serve two purposes simultaneously. First, they reveal the specific chapters and question types that Bihar Board consistently tests — which helps students prioritise their preparation intelligently. Second, they model the standard of answer that earns full marks in a real Bihar Board examination — which is something no amount of textbook reading alone can provide. Working through previous year questions and comparing your written answers against model solutions is one of the highest-value preparation activities available to a Bihar Board Class 12 student.

Q4. What is the difference between short answer and long answer questions in Bihar Board 12th papers?

In the Bihar Board Intermediate examination, short answer questions typically carry two to four marks and expect focused, precise answers of three to ten lines covering the specific concept asked about. Long answer questions carry five to six marks and expect comprehensive treatment of fifteen to twenty lines, usually including a diagram, derivation, or structured multi-point explanation. The critical difference is not just length — it is depth and completeness. A long answer question expects every significant aspect of the topic to be addressed, whereas a short answer question expects one focused, accurate explanation of the specific thing asked.

The Difference Between Knowing and Scoring

Bihar Board Class 12 is one of the most significant academic milestones in the life of a student from Bihar. The Intermediate result shapes college admissions, determines scholarship eligibility, and opens or closes the doors that a student spends twelve years of schooling walking toward.

The students who score the highest in the Bihar Board Intermediate examination are not always the ones who know the most. They are the ones who know how to write what they know — clearly, completely, in the right format, at the right length, with the right elements present on the page where an examiner's marking scheme expects to find them.

Every Bihar Board Subject question answer on this page has been written to that standard. Use them not just as answers to copy, but as models to understand. Read them, analyse why they are structured the way they are, and then practise writing answers in the same style with your textbook closed. That practice — repeated consistently through the year — is what turns a student who understands Bihar Board Class 12 content into a student who scores what they deserve for that understanding.
